Highlights
Our coatings cover a large range of applications. To give you some impressions, in the following table the best, highest or lowest values are given for selected topics. This has been put together with helpful feedback from our customers. For further information, please refer to the chapters in red.
Substrates

We have already coated more than 300 different substrate materials, from AgGaS2 to ZnSe
coatings on special substrates

1850 x 210 mm2 is the largest coated surface, the smallest one is Ø 0.088 mm for fibers
(Ø 0.5 mm for substrates).

The thickness (length) of the coated substrates varies
from 0.03 mm to 250 mm.

The best polished substrates supplied by LASEROPTIK have been measured with a surface roughness
< 0.03 nm rms.

The optic with the most different coatings is a glass cell that required 7 separate coating runs.

Coatings

The coating we produced with the shortest wavelength is HR 121 nm / 45° [B-11248] for a mirror and AR 157 nm / 0° [B-00768] for a window. Normally we offer coatings up to 4 µm with HR and 10.6 µm with AR but in some cases we can do even above:
HT 2800–4000 nm HR 4300-6000 nm / 45° s [B-14110]
AR 2000 nm + 2300 nm HT 16000 nm / 0° on AgGaSe2 [B-07128]
We can measure the transmittance/reflectance in the range from 120 nm to 50 µm.

The coating with the most discrete wavelengths in the article name is
AR 389 nm + 461 nm + 633 nm + 650 nm + 689 nm + 813 nm + 914 nm + 1064 nm / 0° [B-14280]
Of course, we can optimize for more wavelengths or ranges, but the article name has a numerical limitation…
multiline and complex filter coatings

The non-metal coating with the broadest wavelength range has a ratio λ2 / λ1 of
3.57 for a mirror: HR 350-1250 nm / 0° [B-14456-01]
2.00 for a mirror with optimized GDD: HR 700-1400 nm / 45° s GDD opt. [B-15994-P01+02]
8.93 for a partial reflector: PR 280-2500 nm / 0-20° [B-18403-01]
The coating with the smallest wavelength range is an interference filter with a
FWHM of only 0.16 nm: IF 404 nm / 6° [B-06838]
dispersive coatings

The filter coating with the sharpest edge has a ratio λ2 λ1 of 1.008:
HR 1190-1290 nm HT 1300-2000 nm / 45° p [B-15755]
multiline and complex filter coatings

The lowest measured value we received from a customer for an AR coating has been
R = 35 ppm (0.0035%) for AR 1064 nm / 0°,
measured at AOI = 8° with scattered laser light.

We can offer partial reflector coatings optimized to your needs, with greatest accuracy in transmittance or reflectance.
T = 1.5 ppm ± 0.7 ppm: HR 633 nm / 45° s lowest losses [B-11062]
R = 99.98% ± 0.01%: R 99.98% 1140-1154 nm / 0° [B-16321]
R = 0.1% ± 0.03%: R 0.1% 1550 nm / 45° p [B-15285]
low loss optics

Metal coatings have a very broad range but limited reflectance. Depending on the coating design (price) and quality of the substrates (standard, premium or super-polished), dielectric mirrors have a measured reflection of up to

R > 99.999 at 1064 nm
R > 99.994 at 2940 nm
low loss optics

Coatings optimized for the largest angle of incidence AOI are
AOI = 87°: HR 808 nm / 87° [B-00421]
AOI = 0-82°: HR 532 nm HT 589 nm + 670 nm + 770 nm HR 1030-1070 nm / 0-82° [B-11004]

Different customers have successfully used optimized optics with extreme temperatures. The lowest reported value is 2.7 K and the highest ones are about 800 °C with a mirror and 1200 °C with AR, coated mainly by magnetron sputtering MS.

Some of our optics are used to about 6 km diving depth (also in salt water). We cannot give a value for the highest used altitude, as they are on their way to Mercury and Jupiter and still moving.

Service

As part of our EXPRESS service we offer different options for a faster delivery. In special cases we can speed up even more. The fastest turnaround for a both sides coating of customer owned substrates has been eight hours: receiving substrates 08:00 – hand over to the courier 16:00
